Hello!
I am Lauren Mackenzie. I am a custom, natural light, portrait photographer based in Ohio. I started photographing in 2009 at the ripe age of 17 and fell in love with the intimacy of portraits. I then went to College and graduated with a BFA of 2D Arts at Bowling Green State University in December of 2014. My thesis work is mostly landscapes taken with a Large Format 4x5 Film camera, and I was lucky enough to expand on my passion by teaching film photography workshops. For over the last Decade I’ve focused on photographing a variety of amazing humans, and have found great satisfaction and love for the little moments.
I strive for my photography to stay authentic, candid and portray real emotion, sticking to the theme of real life. Looking for personality, humanity and uniqueness to provide my clients with a moment that is uniquely them. I believe those honest moments are the ones that you want to hang on your wall and hand down through generations. The last 6yrs weddings and engagements have taken a forefront in my work, finding couples who I know are meant to be together and who compliment each other completely. Which makes sense why I named my "project" True Love.
Don’t think I’ve given up everything else! I still love photographing families, expecting mammas, and seniors! Its amazing to get to spend an hour or two with someone getting to know them, no stress, plenty of laughs, and show the best in them to the world. These are the most custom photoshoots, and can be the most creative & enchanting, while also creating friendships for life!
